SK Tanvir Mahmud, known professionally as Tanvir Sohel, is a seasoned journalist with over 21 years of experience. Throughout his career, he has held key roles including reporter, news editor, and head of online operations at leading Bangladeshi newspapers. A respected political analyst and talk show host, he has also led multimedia and social media strategy initiatives within major newsrooms. He’s also shared his expertise as an adjunct faculty member at two public universities.

His journey began at Bhorer Kagoj, and it was his 17-year tenure at Prothom Alo that shaped much of his career—with roles ranging from reporter to deputy chief reporter and online coordinator. Before joining the Global Investigative Journalism Network (GIJN) as Bangla Editor, he held the position of Chief News Editor of the digital wing at Independent Television. His reporting has covered critical issues such as politics, elections, and corruption. Renowned for his investigative journalism, Tanvir has produced numerous in-depth reports that have earned him multiple awards.
